The Star-Studded lineup for the 2015 Gold Coast International Film Festival was announced today by festival director Caroline Sorokoff. Actor/Director Lou Diamond Phillips is the latest addition to the list of celebrities that will be attending the Gold Coast Arts Center Gala onOctober 28th at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts.

This weekend, on Oct. 3, Jason Danieley took the stage for his Feinstein's/54 Below solo debut. Opening night well-wishers, included Danieley's wife, Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie (Kiss Me, Kate, Ragtime); Tony Award winner Chita Rivera (The Visit, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink); and Tony Award winning lyricist Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Once on This Island). In his first major Manhattan appearance since his heralded debut at 'Broadway's supper club,' 54 Below, in July, acclaimed NYC jazz vocalist-songwriter MARCUS GOLDHABER returned to encore his new show, 'FREE & EASY: LIVIN' ON SWING STREET,' at the Metropolitan Room last night and Broadwayworld was on the scene! For almost half a century, the Friars Club Sunshine Committee has been dedicated to bringing Friarly Sunshine into the lives of those in need, bringing laughs to children and the elderly in hospitals and nursing homes, and at the annual Christmas/Chanukah spectacular for disadvantaged children. Last night this charitable arm of the club presented a laugh a minute during their annual Comedy Night and Broadwayworld was there photo and laugh along. Although the politically incorrect and xxx rated humor cannot be recounted here (what happens in the Friars stays in the Friars), MC Stewie Stone did point out after one of the comics hysterical routine that this particular comedienne wanted to be Donald Trumps running mate. The night was a fund raiser by the Sunshine Committee and the live auction was extremely rewarding and also very funny.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Christina Bianco with her solo show 'Party of One' last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

All week at 54 Below, Tony Award nominee Will Swenson took the stage for his Feinstein's/54 Below solo debut. He's had special guests all week including wife Audra McDonald, Ramin Karimloo, Nick Adams and to close out his run last night - Caissie Levy! She'll next be seen in FIRST DAUGHTER SUITE at The Public.

The Metropolitan Room hosted two simultaneous events last night. The 10th year of the MAC Award Winning Benefit Series Cabaret Cares, and the 3rd 40th Birthday of the charities creator Joseph Macchia. The non profit Joseph started 10 years ago has raised over $100,000 to help children living with HIV and AIDS. It was a cabaret spectacular and Broadwayworld was there to catch all the action. Broadway's Supper Club presented Joanna Strand and Jacqui Tate last night and BroadwayWorld was there.  Ann Hampton Callaway was a surprise guest and gave the British duo her Diva Blessing. Joanna Strand and Jacqui Tate bridge the worlds of musical theatre, jazz and popular song. Infinitely versatile and with a host of West End and touring credits between them, including The Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q, Jekyll and Hyde, Evita and My Fair Lady as well as the Broadway transfers of Master Class and South Pacific, they captivate audiences with their unique harmonies and original arrangements. Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell made his Cafe' Carlyle debut last night as he opened the Carlyle's fall season. The two-week engagement, entitled Plays With Music which featured Broadway favorites and standards.

Friars Club had a special  Bottoms Up Happy Hour last night to introduce two new bartenders, Jeanette and Joe. The jam packed Lucille Ball room also featured the piano stylings and vocals of Friar Stephen Sorokoff. After a very happy few hours many members enjoyed dinner in the Frank Sinatra dinning room where one of the menu selections was Friar Jimmy Fallon's Favorite Chicken Chow Mein. Even some Friars who were rained out of the Tennis Open were happy as they listened to Stephen's Billy Stritch, Buddy Greco, Errol Garner, & Steve Tyrell influenced musical offerings.

Tony and Golden Globe winner Linda Lavin takes the 54 Below stage this September, performing Broadway favorites, standards, jazz, and even some songs she learned from the great girl singers. New York audiences remember her from It's a Bird…It's a Plane…It's Superman, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Broadway Bound, Collected Stories, The Diary of Anne Frank, Gypsy,The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, and many others, and the world over knows her as Alice Hyatt in the long-running hit TV series Alice.

It's Bryce Pinkham who usually murders the opposition in the Broadway hit A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, but yesterday afternoon the New York Yankees only needed his cheers to attain dominance over the Baltimore Orioles.  Bryce and his girlfriend, actress Emily Young, were in The Boss's  Box in Yankee Stadium with some other theatre professionals as Alex Rodriguez homered and the Yankees won 8-6. 

The award-winning songwriter Joe Iconis returned to Barrington Stage Company with his popular cabaret, Joe Iconis & Family: Outcast Superstars. The first of three performances took place at Mr. Finn's Cabaret, at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center in Pittsfield last night and Broadwayworld was on the scene to catch shots of the evening.
