Barrington Stage Company presented the phenomenally entertaining Fyvush Finkel in a show that is a musical celebration of the 91 year old's long career last night. It is fitting that after a sold out run of his 54 Below nightclub debut Mr. Finkel chose William Finn's Cabaret as his next cabaret appearance. Berkshire audiences were treated to this masterful entertainer who 80 years ago was a star in the pre broadway Yiddish Theater. Johnny Carson knew and featured great singers, including one he called 'Super Singer' - - The multi-talented Marvelous Marilyn Maye. Ms. Maye appeared on The Tonight Show a record 76 times, more than any singer. Cabaret legend Marilyn Maye Tribute to Johnny Carson, show returns to 54 Below June 26th -28th after it's sell-out run in May. Longtime theatrical Ad Man, Peter LeDonne, is now a New York radio host on 970 AM The Answer with Backstage with Peter LeDonne. Peter's show airs every Sunday from 12 Noon to 1 PM. He will have special guests from the world of entertainment and will provide listeners with all the information they need to know about what's going on in New York City's live entertainment scene.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presented Will & Anthony Nunziata in 'THE BOYS ARE BACK!' last night. After three consecutive sold out concerts this winter, Will & Anthony were asked back to the famed concert venue with an updated show just in time for summer!

Last night at the JW Marriot Essex House, Inside Broadway held it's annual Broadway Beacon Awards benefit. This year the honorees included Neil Mazzella, the Chairman of Hudson Scenic Studio, Stephen Batta, General Manager of the JW Marriott Essex House, Tony Award nominated actress of A Raisin In The Sun, Anika Noni Rose, Tony Award nominated actor Andy Karl from ROCKY and the Tony Award show All The Way.

"Shades of Blue" is another first-class invitation for the versatile Bufford to show her many sides. The material -- an odyssey of blues made famous by the likes of Bessie Smith, Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, Dinah Washington, John Legend, and The Animals -- reels from deep in its southern roots to its far-flung northern heights. Shadowing Bufford on this kaleidoscopic journey is her music director Ian Herman on piano.

Slyvia Steiner had her caricature added to the the celebrities on the walls of the legendary Sardi's restaurant yesterday. Joseph Benincasa presidet/CEO of the Actors Fund and Max Klimavicius managing partner of Sardi's honored Sylvia as family and friends toasted her. Slyvia and her husband David are well known in the theater community and as Joe Benincasa pointed out, 'To know Slyvia is to love her'.

PORTRAIT OF AN ARTIST - an evening with the Tony Award-winning actress Linda Lavin and her husband Steve Bakunas, a painter, actor and jazz drummer - was just presented by the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) last night, June 16 at 7 pm to benefit the company's productions, artistic development initiatives and arts education programs, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, The Vineyard's artistic director, and Sarah Stern, co-artistic director. PORTRAIT OF AN ARTIST featured Ms. Lavin and Mr. Bakunas in a 90-minute intimate evening during which Ms. Lavin answers questions about her life and career, posed by her husband while he paints her portrait on stage. An evening of warmth, romance, humor and nostalgia, the couple has previously performed the program at venues around the country.

Ervin Drake has had many birthday tributes recently and one of the most interesting ones was held at the legendary Friars Club. Host and well known interviewer Bill Boggs, together with music critic/historian/author Will Friedwald traced the life of the 95 year old music icon.

Karen Oberlin and Steve Ross brought CHEEK TO CHEEK: THE SONGS OF ASTAIRE AND ROGERS, which will return on July 17, to 54 Below.

GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester makes her Cafe Carlyle debut in a new show, You Gotta Love The Life, through June 21. Accompanying herself on piano, she performs a selection of hits spanning her career, along with several songs from her upcoming album. She is joined on stage by Stephan Oberhoff (keyboard, guitar) and Susan Holder (vocals, percussion).

Frank Military the legendary music publisher whose imprint was on many of the hit songs over the last 45 years was memorialized by his son at the Friars Club yesterday. It was an emotional afternoon as many of the icons of the music world attended.

Endearing, brilliantly funny and always entertaining, she gives us a peek into the life of a performer juggling Hollywood, Broadway and starting a family. Singing an eclectic array of songs and sharing extraordinary backstage stories, Katie takes us on a comical and poignant pilgrimage to her greatest destination yet: home. Expect to hear songs ranging from Stephen Sondheimto Ingrid Michaelson, with homages to Betty Hutton and Julie Andrews in between. The evening will be directed by Katie's longtime pal, Broadway's Andrea Burns (The Nance, In the Heights) and will feature musical direction bySteve Marzullo.
