Blue13 Dance Company presents 100 Seconds to Midnight, a contemporary dance piece by Achinta S. McDaniel that explores the complexities of South Asian American identity through the lens of the Doomsday Clock. This performance integrates diverse styles, from hip-hop to Bollywood and ballet, challenging prevailing perceptions of traditional South Asian dance. The choreography examines themes of misogyny, cyclical trauma, and the pressures of duty and tradition within these communities. McDaniel, a pioneer in contemporary Indian dance, brings her unique vision and emotional depth to this thought-provoking piece.
