Tennis vs pickleball on a tennis court: a new comedy by Emma Gardner. An adaptation of an adaptation of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard. In the town of Cherries Valley, tennis finds itself under threat from Big Dickball - the official workplace sport at the Andreessen Company, which promises to solve the malaise of the age by suppressing all emotions and sexual desires. But the socialist Bimbos will not be so easily bimboozled. Bolstered by their Marxist makeup manifesto, the Bimbos will "make protest" to defend the last tennis court in the world. Audience members will sit courtside on the Gussie Moran Tennis Court at Reed Park, the longtime home of Shakespeare Santa Monica, and participate in (or oppose) the Bimbos' epic protest. Gardner's previous play, Tourrorists: A January 6 Comedy, had a sold-out run in the Hollywood Fringe Festival and won the Encore Award.
