The University of Southern Maine Department of Theatre opens its 2024-2025 season with a radio play adaptation of the classic tale of the Wizard of Oz, written by Linus Speary and directed by Joshua N Hsu. The production features USM Theatre students, bringing to life Dorothy's journey with her dog Toto and their encounters with the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion in the magical land of Oz. The inaugural broadcast will be celebrated with a listening party on October 26th, where attendees can enjoy themed activities and immerse themselves in this cherished story. This radio play follows USM's previous production of The War of the Worlds, further exploring the art of audio storytelling.
