Looking for something to do this summer? Calling all incoming high school freshman through college
juniors as of school year fall 2013, who enjoy musical theatre. Steven Janicki, Director of the King Center and Dr. Anastacia
Hawkins-Smith, Director of the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse are proud to present the second annual Summer Musical
Theatre Project June 17th through July 21st. This is your chance to bring your appetite and desire to participate in a program
that will develop your musical theatre arts and new skills learned from this collaborative project.
The five week project will focus on skills such as auditioning, acting and stage experience, casting, dance, narration,
orchestra and behind the scene support roles. The project also includes chat backs with industry guests and educational
studies on musical theatre.
Auditions will be held Monday June 17th beginning at 12:30 pm at the King Center for the Performing Arts. Classes and
rehearsals will be held daily Mon-Fri., 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm from June 17th – July 19th. The project culminates with three
performances of Hairspray, The Musical on the King Center stage July 19, 20 & 21.
