Nearly three centuries in 90 minutes! New York City’s oldest cultural institution celebrates its 270th anniversary with two performances of a new variety show - glimpses of its wild and bookish history through funny, touching, original short plays, skits, and songs, including "A Most Preposterous, Vexing, Ridiculous, Entirely Unrealistic Idea" by C.S. Hanson “270 Years” by Ayun Halliday and Pearl Rhein "Legacy" by Rob Ackerman "Rule Number Three" by Laurie Rosenwald "Lost in Baxter Keep" by Sayer Holliday "The Fire Place; or, Larceny at the Library" by David Santos Donaldson plus works by Kent K.B. Hanson and more, with music provided by multi-instrumentalist Pearl Rhein. The salon is conceived by C.S. Hanson and directed by Gayden Wren. Performances are free and open to the public, with registration required – November 17 at 2:00 PM and November 18 at 6:00 PM.
