Ensemble Phoenicia envisions a vibrant and transformative concert experience that celebrates the rich heritage and artistic innovation of contemporary Middle Eastern classical music. We strive to be a catalyst for cultural exploration and understanding by showcasing the diverse voices of Middle Eastern composers and uniting audiences through the captivating beauty and emotional depth of our performances. An ensemble of dedicated contemporary-classical musicians, we aim to bridge traditions, create a harmonious dialogue between past and present, and foster an environment of artistic excellence and cross-cultural exchange. We hope to see you at our debut concert on October 2nd at 7:30 p.m. in Elebash Recital Hall at the CUNY Graduate Center (365 5th Ave, New York, NY 10016), which will feature works by composers Sami Seif, Layale Chaker, Kinan Azmeh, and Fairuz.
