The tale follows Duke Albrecht as he disguises himself as a peasant to win the love of the beautiful Giselle. A performance film written by Vernoy de Saint Georges, Theophile Gautier and J. Coral, Giselle is a ballet in two acts performed by Cubas greatest ballet dancer, Alicia Alonso, and Fernando Alonso. In this tale, Duke Albrecht disguises himself as a peasant to win the love of the beautiful Giselle. Meanwhile, Hilarion, who also loves her, takes vengeance by revealing Albrechts true origins. Giselle dies of a heart attack upon learning of this; but, ultimately, her love for Albrecht saves him from punishment.
