Stairs to the Roof is a rarely seen early play by the great American playwright Tennessee Williams and unlike anything else he has ever written. The play is a great example of early American theatrical Expressionism and a great example of 1920's American culture. It particularly takes a comic look at the mechanization caused by the industrial revolution and the birth of a new office cultural that drains the soul of its life and dreams.
