Man of La Mancha Written By: Dale Wasserman August 3-27 Inspired by Miguel De Cervantes’ masterwork Don Quixote and set during the Spanish inquisition, Man of La Mancha won five Tony awards when it debuted in 1965, including best musical. The rousing Spanish-inflected score includes the classic number, “The Impossible Dream.” Michael Sharon, who wowed audiences as Emile De Becque in Clackamas Rep’s 2019 production of South Pacific, stars as Don Quixote.
