A government bent on silencing the media and cleansing its citizenry; lies and corruption dominate the headlines; nationalism slowly infects us and our neighbors start to disappear.
Outside... life is disappointing. But in the Kit Kat Klub... life is BEAUTIFUL!!
Come witness an event unlike any other in Portland as Fuse Theatre Ensemble and The OUTwright Theatre Festival present a site-specific rendering of queer icons John Kander and Fred Ebb’s most iconic musical, Cabaret. Step back in time to investigate the present as last century’s headlines become today’s tweets and we are reminded once again how society can creep slowly towards fascism without even realizing it.
Gwendolyn Duffy stars as the iconic Sally Bowles, Ernie Lijoi as the Emcee, and Alec Lugo as Cliff Bradshaw under the musical direction of Matt Insley and the direction of Rusty Tennant.
There is no use permitting the Prophet of Doom to wipe every smile away. Life is a Cabaret, old chum. Come to the Cabaret!!
