Based on the true story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, Rodgers and Hammersteins The Sound of Music tells the tale of free-spirited Maria Rainer, a young postulant who leaves Nonnberg Abbey to serve as a governess for the Von Trapp children. Through her generosity and trusting persona, Maria transforms the strict household into one filled with laughter, joy, and music. Meanwhile, tensions are high in Austria on the brink of World War II, placing Maria and the Von Trapp family in grave danger as they must decide to either support the Nazi regime or risk their lives to follow their hearts. This final collaboration between Rodgers and Hammerstein has become one of the worlds most beloved musicals, boasting some of your favorite songs such as Do-Re-Mi, My Favorite Things, and Climb Evry Mountain.
