The Smuggler, a gripping play by Ronán Noone, makes its West Coast premiere at the San Jose Stage Company. Set in 2023, the story follows Tim Finnegan, an Irish immigrant and aspiring writer, as he navigates the challenges of life on a wealthy Massachusetts island amid rising tensions between locals and migrants after a tragic accident. As Tim loses his bartending job, he becomes entangled in the island's darker side, prompting reflections on identity and the meaning of American citizenship. The production is directed by Johnny Moreno and runs from September 25 to October 13, 2024.
