As a prelude to the Chinese New Year, The Legend of Huli unites classical/jazz guitarist/composer Roman Smirnov, pipa virtuoso Wen Zhao, cellist Zhenya Kobylyanska, and dancers Roman Nesterov, Karolina Nesterova and Hayley Ng in a performance based on ancient legends of the Celestial Fox collected by Chinese philosopher Pu Songling (1640-1715). The show, reflecting a mix of Eastern and Western influences, depicts a mischievous fox who descends to Earth and proceeds to cause trouble through its transformations.
